4-hour, community-based surf experiences designed to build confidence, connection, and comfort in the ocean. Each camp follows a familiar rhythm: athletes surf together for a couple of hours, take a break to recharge and connect, then head back out for a final surf session.
Surf coaches begin each day with a brief check-in to understand individual needs and ensure safety, allowing support to be personalized while keeping the focus on fun, participation, and shared experience. Small groups help create a supportive environment where athletes can build skills, routines, and friendships in the water.
Out of the water, athletes work with balance and coordination equipment before surfing or during lunch to support body awareness and readiness. Healthy snacks and drinks are provided daily, and Fridays include sandwiches or pizza to celebrate the week’s surf experiences and accomplishments.
Camp Days are designed to promote independence, social engagement, and a strong sense of community, with individualized support woven into a relaxed, recreational setting.
Camp sessions are provided by Flow Wave Warriors Academy, an approved vendor with California Regional Centers and for California Self-Determination Program participants.
